J109 - Jurong Town Hall year-end update

18 December 2022 - A view of the station site with rebar for the station structure visible.

The base of Jurong Town Hall station is beginning to take shape with the footings now becoming visible. The station will sit on the side table of the road and have an elevated concourse level that will be linked to further exits across the road by an overhead bridge. With this, the platforms will be located at level 3 of the station structure.

Apart from the station structure becoming visible, there is not much else taking shape on site otherwise. Unlike other contract sites, there does not seem to be a multitude of foundation work going on for viaduct piers either. Nonetheless, a new access ramp is being built at the existing pedestrian overhead bridge, presumably as the current access will be demolished.

With the station structure beginning to take shape, 2023 should allow us to see the station as it begins its upward climb, much like how we have seen several viaduct piers begin to take shape as they are cast upwards at other project sites. Work is likely to commence on the construction of viaduct piers as well.

In the meantime with 1 day left of 2022, stay tuned for our coverage of the other rail construction sites as we wrap the year up.
