Last week, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) released the first contract under the Jurong Region Line (JRL)'s West Coast Extension (WCE) project. Contract W1007 is for the detection of utilities as a service, with an expected delivery date of September 2029.
How might the team know that this contract is related to the WCE? Thanks to @stormfire_transport, a long time follower of ours, we were made aware that at the beginning of the financial year, ministries may list indicative tenders that will be put up for bid throughout the year. It is from this listing that we saw 2 contracts for the WCE listed - W1005 & W1006. Contract W1005 would eventually be renumbered to W1007, which was first floated on 22 May 2026.

Thanks for catching us up on this Storm Fire! We appreciate the tip off. We thus have our first WCE contract put up for tender and can likely expect more such contracts to come.
