The stretch along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3 has been fully diverted allowing for construction works to commence in the road median. As such, foundation works are taking place along the entire stretch of roadway. Several auger machines are dotted throughout the work site to commence bored piling for the pier foundation piles.

As with neighbouring station Choa Chu Kang, works are expected to ramp up in 2023 with piers coming up and leading up to eventual viaduct construction. The station at Choa Chu Kang West will require piers to support the concourse level in the road median, hence station construction will be slightly more complex and take longer than that at Choa Chu Kang station.
