Over the last 2 months of the past quarter, works have picked up pace with several of the station's pier columns coming together. Those along Jurong West Street 75 especially, were pretty quick to be built up to the crown level having only been at the pile cap level several weeks ago. Due to the station's unique T-junction layout, bored piling is progressing on several fronts. For the 90-degree curve from Jurong West Avenue 4 to Street 64, bored piling is underway for the viaduct piers that will help to support that curve.

Also underway is bored piling for the station piers along the northern side of Jurong West Avenue 4, parallel to the eastbound lanes. These will help to support the Choa Chu Kang-bound trackway which sits above the concourse level. As such, the station concourse effectively straddles the eastbound lanes of Avenue 4, while the westbound lanes will remain unobstructed above.

Work is also underway to begin crosshead construction at some of the viaduct piers next to the station. Due to the limited work space and the need for cantilevering, the metal frame used is rather thick to support the heavy loads. We'll bring you more updates on the construction progress at Bahar Junction when available - so do stick around to find out more in due time.
