23 March 2023 - A view of the station work site at the end of Q1 2023.

The past quarter has seen the station site at Choa Chu Kang take shape as rebar is installed and concrete poured. More of the station cable troughs and base slab can be seen being built. Installed rebar gives us an idea of where the facilities such as vertical transport and viaduct columns will go. Most of the work has progressed out of foundation works and will transit to the building of the station structure.

Works at the station site have revolved around getting the foundations settled and the base slab cast. As part of these works, provisions for electrical wiring, ducts and plumbing have to be made. These come in the form of cable troughs running the length of the station and allow for sufficient space for the installation of these services. Further south, the beginnings of the stumps for viaduct piers can be seen rising upwards. The coming months will see the full fit out of rebar and subsequent casting of the pier columns.

16 April 2023 - Work to cast a diverted drain under way.

16 April 2023 - The diverted drain will allow for the construction
of a viaduct pier column nearby.

16 April 2023 - A view inside the site parallel to the NSL tracks,
with a viaduct pier visible.

Work has also progressed at the site that runs parallel to the NSL tracks. A single viaduct pier stands within the site, a fruit of the long hours of labour put in. Several more will join in over the course of the next few months before crossheads are cast and the viaduct spans go up. Do stay tuned as we bring you further updates on the progress of works here.
