According to the contractor for J106, works to facilitate a road diversion will begin today and complete by tomorrow. This is to allow the space currently taken by Jurong West Street 64 to used for the construction of the Jurong Region Line (JRL) station at Boon Lay. Here's a look back at all the work that has taken place thus far.
8 November 2020 - Looking southwards, the canal is visible in its original state before construction works commenced on site. |
8 November 2020 - Looking northwards, the road and canal are in their original almost untouched state. Remnants of trial trenching can be seen in the southbound carriageway. |
8 September 2021 - Works are underway on site but construction of the traffic decking on top of the canal has not yet commenced. |
8 September 2021 - Some piling has commenced on the northern side next to the canal. |

25 September 2021 - Sheet piles have been installed on the southern side. |
25 September 2021 - Piling works had ceased on the northern side. |

The changes to the site over the years are visible from the photos above. Traffic decking has been steadily installed over the years and the roadway will finally be diverted over the canal to allow construction works to commence on the cleared area.
