It has been a while since we've come to Choa Chu Kang and things are progressing fairly well. Foundation works are well under way at the station site where 2 new island platforms are being tacked on to the existing station for the Jurong Region Line (JRL) and to facilitate cross-platform transfers to the southbound North-South Line (NSL) track. Further along, work is also underway for the foundations of the piers towards Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3.

4 September 2022 - Major reconfiguration works are underway at the station. This is the corridor
leading towards Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4 from the ticket gantries.

Within the station area, there are a fair amount of works going on. Exit D and about 95% of the former shops at the station under SMRT's Choa Chu Kang Xchange programme have since been hoarded up. Only 2 shops opposite the LRT station's ticket gantry line remain together with the small kiosk within the LRT station. We hope that the paid area can be expanded to finally link the MRT and LRT stations together, at long last offering barrier free accessibility between both modes.

4 September 2022 - Across the road, north of the station, sites have begun
to be cordoned off for upcoming works.

path built. It is expected that the existing foot path will be used for the
construction of viaduct piers for the station over run track.

no notices on when it would be put into use.

Works outside of the station are progressing as well with numerous work sites hoarded off for viaduct pier construction. Several foot paths have been diverted or will be diverted to make way for these works in the days to come. It was also observed that noise reducing enclosures are used on the work equipment to minimize any noise disturbance as far as possible.
