In the blink of an eye October has come and gone. 2024 is now a mere 2 months away, less than 60 days. With the passage of time gaining momentum as we hurtle towards the end of 2023, here's the October 2023 snapshot of the JRL stations, viaducts and depot for your viewing pleasure.

Phase 1

Tengah depot (Contract J101)
In a nutshell: The ramp connecting the reception tracks to the depot buildings & facilities is under construction now.

In a nutshell: The existing North-South Line (NSL) station platform extension is taking shape.

In a nutshell: Concourse slab crossheads and viaduct piers are coming along.

JS2A - Forest Hill (Contract J102, provisional future station)
In a nutshell: The trackbed for the Jurong Pier trackway can be clearly seen now. Work on the crosshead for the special span across Brickland Road is underway.

In a nutshell: The launch gantry Gaia is making progress back towards Tengah station, constructing the reception track.

In a nutshell: Pre-cast beams that will be used for concourse level are now on site.

In a nutshell: The launch gantry for the contract has been lifted into position. Further assembly work is ongoing before the gantry will begin viaduct segment launching.

In a nutshell: Casting of concourse slab crossheads is ongoing. Approximately 7 of the 10 piers and crossheads for the station have been completed.

In a nutshell: Works to begin casting of the cantilevered concourse level crossheads is underway.

In a nutshell: The assembly of the precast viaduct pier crosshead has been completed for pier I02 and is beginning for pier I04.

In a nutshell: Launching of 3 precast crosshead beams for the concourse slab has been completed. 19 more remain to be installed.

In a nutshell: Casting for the platform and trackbed level crossheads and piers is underway.

Phase 2

JE1 - Tengah Plantation (Contract J108)
In a nutshell: The eastern end of the station has progressed to construction at the platform and trackbed level. On the western end, works are still at the concourse slab level.

In a nutshell: Casting work for the beams that will support the concourse slab is ongoing.

JE3 - Bukit Batok West (Contract J108)
In a nutshell: The station columns on the Pandan Reservoir side are being cast. Viaduct pier construction is picking up with the pile caps for at least 2 more piers becoming visible.

In a nutshell: Foundation works are largely completed with the pier caps underway and the base of the pier columns becoming visible.

In a nutshell: A trestle has been erected to allow for in-situ casting of the viaduct beams.

In a nutshell: Station columns are coming up while some work is still focused on the ground level floor.

JE6 - Jurong Town Hall (Contract J109)
In a nutshell: Columns for both the station and viaduct piers are beginning to climb upwards. Components of the launch gantry to be used are also sitting within the station work site for assembly later in the year.

JE7 - Pandan Reservoir (Contract J107)
In a nutshell: The station piers have yet to climb further upwards. Work on the over run track viaduct piers are making progress at the pier foundations.

Phase 3 (South)

JS9 - Enterprise (Contract J111)
In a nutshell: The first of the station's piers are being cast along Jalan Boon Lay. Although they sit to the side of the roadway for the moment, this is due to the road diversion currently in place. In future the piers may likely be in the road median, spanning the station across the southbound carriageway.

JS10 - Tukang (Contract J111)
In a nutshell: Preparations are in place for an upcoming road diversion which will see the southbound carriageway pushed to the east. This will assist in creating a work site in the road median.

JS11 - Jurong Hill (Contract J112)
In a nutshell: A road diversion has been implemented which pushed the northbound carriageway further west, allowing the road median to be used for construction of the station and viaduct piers.

In a nutshell: Work is ongoing and the area around the subway exit across Jurong Pier Road has soil investigations taking place.

Phase 3 (North)

JW3 - Nanyang Gateway (Contract J113)
In a nutshell: Bored piling works are taking place at the station site. On both sides of the station, viaduct piers are beginning to become visible either being partially cast or having the rebar frames installed.

In a nutshell: Casting of the viaduct pier crossheads has begun on 3 of the 4 piers cast thus far. The station site still requires more excavation to take place.
