Time waits for no one is an often heard phrase. This seems to hold true when one speaks about the pace of works at contract J108 in getting the first viaduct span for the entire Jurong Region Line (JRL) completed. What makes this an amazing feat is the fact that this contract is actually part of the second phase, yet it is the first to have a viaduct span nearly entirely launched. What works in the contract's favour is that it is mostly located within untouched greenfield sites which require minimal utility diversion works before works can progress.
Photos for our update to wrap up 2022 were taken in December when the launch gantry was newly lifted up. As of 27 December 2022, there were no viaduct segments lifted up yet. By 2 January 2023, two segments hung from the gantry. And on 4 January 2023, a total of 7 segments were lifted into place underneath the gantry.
