We're back with another snapshot feature on the Jurong Region Line (JRL) to kick off Q3 of 2025. Viaduct-wise, completion status is still the same along the line with 80% of the phase 1 contracts having completed span construction works. Station works are underway, with more stations commencing interior works. Track works have ramped up as well, with more stations beginning to receive rails as installation works slowly expand across the first phase of the network. All the details after the jump.
Phase 1 Over July, we have seen rail installation works reach additional stations at Choa Chu Kang West, Bahar Junction and Jurong West. These are on top of other stations where such works had already passed through previously at Tawas, Gek Poh, Hong Kah and possibly Tengah. Interior works were also commencing, with some cladding becoming visible. Viaduct construction remains a work in progress for contract J103 as there are still multiple sections of viaduct that require segment launching for completion to be attained.
Tengah depot (Contract J101)
In a nutshell: Work was progressing on several fronts at the depot. The administration building, which will house both the Operations Control Centre (OCC) and Depot Control Centre (DCC) has begun the process of window and external facade installation. Over at the rolling stock workshop, rails have been connected to the first few inspection lines. Others will follow suit. Fencing was also being installed to segregate the fully automated operation along the test track from other areas in the depot that operate at reduced speeds. Trackworks were also proceeding up along the reception track ramp, but stopping short of the contract boundary with contract J103. Over at the bus depot multi-storey parking structure, works were coming along with bridge structures completed to connect with the roof level of the rolling stock workshops, where additional parking bays will be located.

JS1 -
Choa Chu Kang (Contract J102)
In a nutshell: The basic structure of the viaducts should be largely completed now that all components are in place for handover to the trackworks contractor. Over at the station itself, roof truss frame installation was nearly completed as works on the installation of the roof coverage components began. Recent reconfiguration works within the station saw the closure of the stairs connecting the NSL concourse with the transfer mezzanine to the LRT station. Presumably, demolition works will begin here to allow for the second pair of escalators between the concourse and mezzanine to be installed. Modification works for the additional lift in the NSL station and pair of new escalators connecting the platform and northern mezzanine are due to complete in Q4 2025.
Further along, where the line crosses over several car park lots, works were underway for the construction of a fire-safe structure below the JRL viaduct. These will serve to protect the line for some time should a parked vehicle below catch fire. These lots are set to be reopened some time in Q4 2025.

JS4 -
Hong Kah (Contract J103)
In a nutshell: Externally, the station appears to be mostly the same with the bulk of works taking place internally. Views of the linkbridge exit were obscured from the vantage points that we had visited, although progress has likely been made there.
19 July 2025
JS5 -
Corporation (Contract J103)
In a nutshell: Escalators have been installed at 2 of the station's exits, while the third exit facing the Hyundai innovation centre will only feature lift and staircase access. All exits had the roof frames installed, while two had the insulating layers already added in as well. Works were progressing on the station's internal features, with some glass partitions already installed at platform level around the atriums where escalators and stairs connect.

Bahar Junction (Contract J105)
In a nutshell: Progress on the station's satellite building and connecting paid transfer linkway have begun picking up. A temporary protective enclosure was built at the site of the satellite station building to allow trackworks to proceed as the roof frame is installed at the station. Likewise for the paid transfer linkway at platform level, roof frame supports have begun installation work. It is likely that there will be travelators installed at this level judging from the depth of the structure being cast.

Phase 2 As always, phase 2 is a little bit of a mixed bag with some contracts fairly advanced in works while others are further behind. It should come as no surprise that the stations along contract J108 have been making waves with regards to progress, even to the extent of commencing interior fit out works. The contract is also left with 3 viaduct spans to achieve completion of all viaduct span construction works. In contrast, stations along contract J109 were in various stages of progress. Viaduct construction under contract J109 was still a long way away from completion as well.
JE1 - Tengah Plantation (Contract J108)
In a nutshell: Roofing works are ongoing for the the station building. Internally, architectural finishes such as the installation of cladding and ceiling panels was being trialed. External facade sections were also being installed concurrently. Foundation works for the station exits were underway, with the above ground structures to follow shortly. Launch gantry Magnificent Mammoth had also reached the final pair of spans that would link the viaduct with the section built under contract J102. The gantry would subsequently be lowered and disassembled on site - recent information obtained indicates that this would occur from mid-August to September 2025, possibly indicating that the final pair of viaduct spans would not utilise the gantry for completion.

Phase 3 (South) As the phase with the most time on hand, progress along the southern stretch was a little varied. Contract J111 appeared to be the quicker moving of the two contracts, both in terms of station and viaduct construction. Contract J112 had slightly more complex integration requirements due to a vehicular underpass being constructed beneath the Ayer Rajah Expressway and the need to conduct underground works beneath the Jurong Pier flyover, resulting in slower progress along the viaducts.
JS9 - Enterprise
(Contract J111)
In a nutshell: Casting works for the station's platform level were fast coming towards completion and internal structures for the various rooms at concourse level were beginning to take shape. On the viaduct construction front, the gaps between piers were fast coming down as significant stretches of span construction approached completion.

A fourth was undergoing the same phase of installation. There were several station piers that were still in the column casting stage. North of the station building, there were several viaduct piers that had been completed. Viaduct span construction began on this section recently. Across the Ayer Rajah Expressway, span construction had been ongoing for some time now and had seen approximately 2 spans completed. Works were underway here in constructing the span abutting the viaduct pier constructed under contract J111, which would be handed back after the completion of span construction by contract J112.

Phase 3 (North) Progress along the northern section of phase three was a lot more homogenous due to the fact that both contracts J113 and J115A were awarded to the same contractor, effectively allowing the phase to function as one big contract as opposed to two smaller contracts. Progress on the stations and viaducts under each contract were roughly on a similar scale.
JW3 - Nanyang Gateway (Contract J113)
In a nutshell: Casting of the platform level was largely completed, with works ongoing at the plantrooms on either end. Casting of the remaining viaduct piers that would support the Choa Chu Kang-bound track had also been completed, with viaduct span construction works to follow soon. In this section of the contract up to the ARC building, there were approximately 10 spans to be completed.
