It has been a busy first quarter of the year across the Jurong Region Line (JRL)'s work sites. Progress has been made with most station buildings along the first few phases starting to take shape. Viaducts are coming up as well, with some parapet walls already being installed. Without further ado, let's jump right in to the update for March 2024.

With Q1 of 2024 coming to a close soon, we're beginning our quarterly updates on the Jurong Region Line (JRL). Last week, we covered the progress of Tengah depot over the first quarter, including the commencement of trackworks! Today, we'll dive a little deeper into the works taking place under contract J102 by Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co which includes 3 stations, approximately 4km of viaducts and a future shell station.

As we reach the tail end of Q1 2024, we're beginning our quarterly updates with the Jurong Region Line (JRL) depot at Tengah. Built as part of contract J101, there still appears to be some way to go. According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA)'s press release, the J151 trains for the line are anticipated to arrive in the second half of the year. Judging from the work progress on site, 2025 might be a more appropriate window to see the arrival of the JRL trains instead. We'll take a dive in to the progress of the various elements at the depot during Q1.

And just like that, we're already in March! Gone are two months of the year and two-thirds of the first quarter of the year. The start of the year has been a rather busy one for the team professionally & personally, thus we apologise for the rather slow start to getting back to our regular schedule of posts. We hope that this snapshot of the Jurong Region Line (JRL) for February allows you a glimpse of the work done over the first few months of the year. Progress is being made, but there's still a fair bit of way to go - especially certain sections along phase 1 which do not yet have piers constructed. Without further ado, here's the February snapshot for the JRL!
