Happy New Year 2026! (JRL version)

Happy New Year! We hope that your 2026 will be a bright & incredible year for you. The team was rather busy through 2025, especially during the last few months of the year. We weren't able to compile a Snapshot feature to close the year off for updates on the Jurong Region Line (JRL), but will be working to make one happen for this month's progress. To make up for the lack of a Snapshot update though, here are some images that we've come across that may interest you.

JS1 - Choa Chu Kang
Rail laying works have reached the station, marking a milestone in the progress of works along the JRL. With rail laying works here underway, all stations along JRL Phase 1 have had rails laid. Noise barrier installation along with track-related component installation will follow suit through 2026.

13 December 2025 - Rail laying has reached Choa Chu Kang. With this, all JRL Phase 1 stations
have rails laid.

13 December 2025 - As of the date of visit, only rails for the Choa Chu Kang-bound trackway had
been laid.

13 December 2025 - Rails are typically laid as individual tracks first, before sections are taken out
and replaced with turnout points for crossover switches.

28 December 2025 - The new pair of up and down-riding escalators at
the northern end of the station. They will be open for use in Q1 2026,
allowing for demolition and reinstallation works to commence at the
southern end of the station.

JS2 - Choa Chu Kang West
Noise barrier installation works had been going full throttle along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3, with the majority of the barrier frames installed. Works at the station were also kicking up a notch, with the installation of the architectural fittings at concourse level. Construction of the Passenger Service Centre (PSC) was also visibly underway.

20 December 2025 - The majority of the noise barrier frames had been installed along the viaduct.
There will be several different types of noise barriers, ranging from fully enclosed to partial
height barriers.

within the concourse level.

20 December 2025 - Metal beams were being installed for cladding to be assembled upon, giving
the station its external facade appearance. Louvres had been installed to reduce rain splash into
the station along the edge of the roof overhang.

20 December 2025 - The roof overhang edge cladding had yet to be installed here.

JS4 - Hong Kah
Works were quietly progressing at the station, with platform screen gate (PSG) installation beginning with the first components appearing at the station. These were the base plates that would secure the posts used in the PSG system, anchoring them to the platform. The PSC could also be seen in advanced stages of construction, with the concourse level ceiling panels and ticket gate utility booms already installed.

Unlike those seen at Choa Chu Kang's new North-South Line platform, these are a little more
further along in installation works.

wall components have been added on to the basic steel frame. Ceiling panels and the fare gate
utility booms can be seen since installed as well.

JS5 - Corporation
With the station's basic structure completed some time back, works have continued on other internal aspects that might not have been as visible externally. These include the architectural fittings as well as electrical wiring & systems installation.

signage will hang from.

Contract J103 viaducts
With the viaducts connecting the main line stations and depot together completed, rail laying works have been ramping up. The completion of the first set of reception tracks to the main line would allow for trains to be launched from the depot for eventual testing on the main line - a crucial connection & development.

were laid on the western reception tracks, seen to the left. The Choa Chu Kang-bound track
had also been laid between Corporation & Hong Kah stations, although the Jurong Pier-bound
rails had yet to be laid.
