The section of Jurong Region Line (JRL) near Jurong East is being constructed under 2 contracts connected to contract J109 on either end. Jurong East station is being built under contract J110 while the Jurong East Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) and associated viaducts are being built under contract J120. Through Q1 both contracts have seen the casting of various sections of the project under their care. We take a closer look at the progress made over Q1 in this update.
JE5 - Jurong East
Works at the JRL station have continued to see the casting of the additional columns that will support the expanded station concourse over the past quarter, ahead of casting of the expanded concourse slab. In total, there will be three rows of columns supporting the new station addition. This expanded concourse slab will also connect with buildings just south of the station, on the site of the former temporary Jurong East bus interchange.

Concurrently, the ITH building was also beginning to take shape. Consisting of 2 podiums with a tower atop the west podium opposite the former JCube mall, the facility will house the future Jurong East library, bus interchange and other community amenities. Part of the building will wrap around the future JRL viaduct, with several of the line's viaduct piers also integrating with the building.
