12 February 2023 - An overview of the Hong Kah station site in front of Tengah town.

Recently progress at Hong Kah station seems to have taken off with the structure of the station beginning to take shape. Station piers are coming up visibly and show how the station will integrate with the viaduct. As some of these pictures are from February and others from April, this update spans between quarter 1 and quarter 2 of the year. Depending how things progress, we may do a further update towards the end of Q2.

With thanks to Alfred Yeo Chi Jin, a resident of Bukit Batok West for contributing these photos with regularity, we have been able to observe the process of transferring a launch gantry from one trackway to another. The transfer was completed over a course of several days by sliding the supports across a beam that helped to keep the gantry in place.

J102 - Choa Chu Kang update Q1 2023

23 March 2023 - An overview of the Choa Chu Kang JRL site.

Choa Chu Kang is going to be the station that connects it all - the Jurong Region Line (JRL), North-South Line (NSL) & Bukit Panjang LRT. Works have been on-going for a while now, when the site looked extremely different. Now a multi-storey carpark with commercial units on the ground floor has gone and the bus interchange has shifted to allow for the JRL construction. To say that the place looks different would be an understatement.

The Six Stages to building an elevated MRT line - Testing & Commissioning works (5)

We're now at the fifth stage out of six in constructing an elevated MRT line, which happens to be the testing & commissioning stage. In this stage, the aim is to ensure that all the systems required to operate an MRT line are fully functional and well integrated ahead of the line's operationalisation. This involves testing each component system individually, then together before undergoing certification ahead of the line's opening. Join us as we take a closer look at what works go on during this stage, a crucial one, before the line finally opens for revenue service.
