J111 - Enterprise & Tukang update Q3 2023

A compilation of stations under contract J111 under construction in September 2023.

Phase 3 of the Jurong Region Line (JRL) traverses the industrial estates to the south and technological/educational districts to the north. As such, the section to the south is generally less interesting given that the line runs in the road median for the most part. Also given that Phase 3 has a later target revenue operations date of 2028, works are not in as advanced a stage as compared to those along Phases 1 & 2. Nonetheless, certain sections of the line had begun showing visible progress within Q3. Most notably of the southern section, the contract boundary between contracts J106 and J111 is of interest. Do head on over after the jump to see more!

JS9 - Enterprise
Q3 saw the rise of the viaduct piers within Jurong Central Park. Previously, work was ongoing for the rebar was being installed for the viaduct piers here. By mid-Q3, the piers had been cast and began to unveil with scaffolding and construction netting being removed. As the line cuts across the park, it crosses over several canals which require the use of a portal pier to straddle at least one of the channels.

Along Jurong West Street 64, work had begun on excavation of the pits in which the viaduct pier pile caps would be constructed atop the bored pile foundations. These would form the base upon which the pier columns would emerge from later on.

Lastly, but not least, along Jalan Boon Lay lies the Enterprise station site. Over the course of Q3, work has begun on the northern end. By the end of Q3, the rebar for at least one pier was visible as evidence of how far work has come along.

JS10 - Tukang
While Tukang station's northern sister may have had all the visible work by way of viaduct and station piers emerging, this station also gained some traction this past quarter by way of preparation for a road diversion. However, apart from the preparatory works, there is not much else to report about this site in general.

Casting Yard
Also part of contract J111 is the construction & commissioning of a precasting yard along Tractor Road. The site sits bounded by the Ayer Rajah Expressway, Jalan Boon Lay & Tractor Road, offering good views all around. The site was subsequently divided between contracts J111 and J113 for casting of the viaduct span segments.
