Pre-construction - Choa Chu Kang West

Choa Chu Kang West station under contract J102 is located along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3, near the Sunshine Place neighbourhood shopping centre. Currently, Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3 is a two-lane double carriageway which will soon give way to a widened road median once construction works begin.

Google Earth's current latest satellite imaging is dated to 30 September 2018 and will serve as a throwback to how the area looked in time to come. The future station is likely to be of a side platform design to keep the tracks as far away from the Housing & Development Board (HDB) flats that flank both sides of the roadway.

As the current road median is rather narrow, it can be expected that the carriageways will be pushed further out once construction begins. This would allow the viaduct to keep to the middle of the roadway, allowing for ample space from the residential blocks. To keep noise levels to a minimum, full height noise enclosures may be deployed as seen in the concept art below.
