Overview of JRL stations JS1 - JS8 as of March 2024. |
It has been a busy first quarter of the year across the Jurong Region Line (JRL)'s work sites. Progress has been made with most station buildings along the first few phases starting to take shape. Viaducts are coming up as well, with some parapet walls already being installed. Without further ado, let's jump right in to the update for March 2024.
Phase 1
All station building structures along this phase have progressed beyond the first level and are being built up further. Viaduct work has also progressed with work starting on major road crossings.
Tengah depot (Contract J101)
In a nutshell: Civil structural works are progressing. Trackworks have begun at a small section of the depot. Read more in this Q1 update here.

JS1 -
Choa Chu Kang (Contract J102)
In a nutshell: Station works are progressing well, with modification works to the existing station beginning to be unveiled. Viaduct construction has begun in earnest. Read more in the Q1 update for this contract here.

JS2 -
Choa Chu Kang West (Contract J102)
In a nutshell: The station's concourse level is almost complete, with work set to begin on the concourse level columns. Construction of the portal beams for several of the piers has begun. Read more in the Q1 update for this contract here.

JS2A
- Forest Hill (Contract J102, provisional future station)
In a nutshell: Launch gantry Mulan has completed several viaduct spans and returned to the other end of the station. Viaduct construction is taking place further west to connect with Tengah station. Read more in the Q1 update for this contract here.

JS3 -
Tengah (Contract J102)
In a nutshell: Work has reached the upper platform level of the station. Read more in the Q1 update for this contract here.

JS4 -
Hong Kah (Contract J103)
In a nutshell: Works on the station have progressed to the concourse level. Columns are being cast at this level. Some viaduct piers are beginning to take shape south of the station as well.

JS5 -
Corporation (Contract J103)
In a nutshell: The station is currently casting the structure of the platform level. The first section of the station's roof is also on site and is being fitted out with the eventual roof system. The support piers have been installed along the trackbed at platform level.

JS6 -
Jurong West (Contract J105)
In a nutshell: Casting is ongoing for the under-platform level support beams. Following this, work will move on to the trackbed and platform level of the station. Viaduct works are also progressing with the set up of another truss assembly near the movement & expansion joint pier near the junction with Jalan Bahar, Jalan Boon Lay & Jurong West Avenue 4.

JS7 -
Bahar Junction (Contract J105)
In a nutshell: The station will be shifting into major station works with the launching of prefabricated segmental box girders that will form the satellite station's concourse level. Work on the main station's concourse level has achieved a level of completion that allowed for the eastbound carriageway of Jurong West Avenue 4 to be reinstated underneath the completed structure.

JS8 -
Boon Lay (Contract J106)
In a nutshell: Both halves of the station structure are progressing upwards steadily. The northern half is focused on the mezzanine level while the southern half had reached the concourse level. Work has begun on filling in the missing gaps along the viaduct spans, where the movement & expansion joint piers are located.

Phase 3 (South)
Great progress is being made at the two stations on either end of the section. The stations in the middle are progressing a little slower though. Viaduct works are mainly concentrated on pier construction with viaduct spans not yet being assembled along this stretch.

Phase 3 (North)
Work at this section sees an inverse of the southern section of the phase. For instance, viaduct spans have emerged with the section near Nanyang Crescent seeing significant progress. On the other hand, station building construction is progressing at a slower rate with no station buildings emerging yet.
