We had previously posted about the first Jurong Region Line (JRL) production prototype train being spotted on the tracks en route to the test track for overall testing and refinement of design. We now have some additional pictures to show and a video that also allows you to hear the train's motor as it accelerates off. The train's motor sounds can be heard as it accelerates and stops a few times in the first video. The trains are being produced under contract J151 by Hyundai Rotem in South Korea. Similar trains were recently manufactured and commissioned for the Putrajaya MRT line in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Here's a video for comparison of the train's motor sounds for the rail fans:

Let us know if you think that Kuala Lumpur's Putrajaya Line train sounds similar to our JRL in the comments. With testing underway, production of the remaining 61 trains is likely to follow suit soon, following which, they will be shipped over to Singapore. The trains should be expected to reach our shores from 2025 onwards and may be tested at the new Integrated Train Testing Centre (ITTC) being built in Tuas as a one-stop testing & refurbishment centre for rail lines here.
