Station renders

Usually when a new MRT line is announced, the Land Transport Authority releases information to the press along with a few renders of how the stations would look. These offer perspectives of how the stations would integrate into the environments and allow the public something to look forward to. However, this was not the case for the Jurong Region Line (JRL) during its announcement. Nonetheless, we have looked around and found several renders that showcase the stations' designs.

GreenhilLi recently released a render of one of the stations along the JRL. According to the website, a common design is adopted across the stations to bring forth an identity to the line.

The project scope is the design of rail alignment and 11 over-ground stations, including 3 interchanges for the northern and eastern portions of the line. Standardised typologies have been developed for the stations to reinforce a line identity through architectural expression.
It can be expected that normal stops along the line may use the basic skeleton that is adapted to the individual station locations - similar to how most of the LRT stations along the 3 lines in Bukit Panjang, Sengkang & Punggol are configured. Certain stations may have differing designs if they are located at interchange points to help commuters identify the key transfer points.

Another user also shared several renders from contract J1003 that show more detailed renders of stations along the western sector of the line.

The overall design of the stations on this sector mirror that of the basic design utilised for contract J1001. They do, however, also bear a striking resemblance to the design of MRT stations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Till more detailed renders are released, we await with anticipation for more information on the station designs.

  1. Is it possible that the last render (platform with mezzanine above and escalators below) be of Peng Kang Hill station?

    That area looks like it would have a pretty steep gradient.

  2. At this point, the render could be of any station as we lack details on site-specific indicators. So it could be Peng Kang Hill or it could be another station - either way its not ruled out yet. :)
