J111 - Enterprise & Tukang update Q1 2024

Phase 3 of the Jurong Region Line (JRL) is probably one of the least inspiring sections due to its remote location in serving largely industrial areas. Nonetheless, we'll breeze through an update on this section for you to get an idea of how works are coming along on the southern section. Kicking off our phase 3 updates for Q1 2024 is none other than contract J111 for the construction of Enterprise and Tukang stations. Thus far, all the action seems to be taking place at Enterprise station with the viaduct pier columns becoming visible here while Tukang station still tackles bored piling works - rather, well, boring.

JS9 - Enterprise
Over the course of the first quarter, works have become much more visible at the station site with pier columns taking shape for the viaduct and station areas. Initially covered up with scaffolding and construction netting, these were subsequently removed to unveil the completed piers beneath.

Contract J111 also involves the construction of a stretch of viaduct along Jurong West Street 64, crossing over the junction with Boon Lay Way and continuing across Jurong Central Park. This section in particular is notable as the viaduct stretches across the various canals, including a portal pier that straddles across the Street 64 canal. Work here, over the past quarter, has seen the construction of the pier crossheads take place. At the beginning of the quarter crosshead works were only beginning, but by the end of the quarter, casting for one of the piers was completed with others following shortly as well.

JS10 - Tukang
The slower site of the two stations under the contract saw bored piling works continue. These works will serve as foundations upon which the station's piers can be built. Apart from this, there has not been much other work to report on.

Works along this stretch of the line are not the most exciting, with viaduct works still in its infancy. The structure of the stations have also yet to begin taking shape as it should be a few months more before these become visible.
