J102 - Choa Chu Kang West update Q3 2023

24 September 2023 - A view of station concourse slab crosshead construction at the end of Q3.

Transformation has taken place over the past quarter at the site of the Jurong Region Line (JRL)'s Choa Chu Kang West station and viaduct sites. Work has commenced on the station concourse slab crossheads which, like many other stations located in the road median, will help to support beams that will form the concourse slab eventually.

July 2023
At the start of Q3, things were still looking a little bare. This is especially so for the various viaduct piers which had yet to come up in force along the majority of the thoroughfare, instead appearing sporadically along the stretch of roadway. The piers at the station site were also coming along slowly.

Progress has been swift with crosshead construction commencing on various fronts along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3. The coming quarter will see the completion of the initial piers with crossheads and the process will begin for other piers along the stretch as well. Bored piling works are underway for the portal piers near the junction with Choa Chu Kang Way and we should expect to see the pier caps be completed some time in the next quarter as well. Casting of the portal piers themselves may take some time more, however. Till our next update then!
